ELP’s Visit to General Manager, Lagos State Public Works Corporation

The visit to LSPWC was always going to be interesting, as road concerns play a major role in the THEMES agenda of The Governor.

This is the agency that comes with the quick fix.

Fitting into the spirit of excellent execution that runs in their parent ministry, Engr. Olufemi Daramola has managed to notably increase the proficiency level of LSPWC. Their interventions come more; even in dire conditions, jobs are planned with minimal restriction to vehicular flow, professional inspections take place (till a satisfactory level is reached), etc. And the attestations/commendations have followed.

Not one for too much personal limelight, the General Manager referred to the improvement as a team effort. Some of this formidable team were at the reception for Environmental Lagos Platform.

We spoke on challenges, especially as sightings of their good efforts have led to more demands for their actions.

He explained the scheduling of jobs along primary, secondary and tertiary functions, and how they go extra miles to ensure thoroughness.

We also spoke on the spread of their work, factors that make some jobs come faster than others, and their mandate to ensure compliance with The Governor’s instructions of eradicating potholes in Lagos.

He spoke highly of ELP; as we have made their job easier by the reports they get on bad spots, asking us to keep the synergy at peak levels.

The two organizations appealed to Lagosians to maintain hygienic and proper habits concerning refuse disposal, as the effects on the roads lead to recurrent interventions at some places, thus denying focus on others…
