In the battle against COVID-19, the Ministry of Health had a strong partner that was a bit under the radar.

This is the Lagos State Safety Commission; the agency that was working on the safety measures, in order to ensure the spread was limited.

As it was for many people in this administration, the pandemic was a test of fire, but Mr. Lanre Mojola and his team were up to the task. And the task of about 60 people crafting combating policies and monitoring their efficiency; for more than 20 million people; is not a small one.

The Director-General took Environmental Lagos Platform through their work-purview; including how they ramped up the policies guiding event safety, and brilliantly explained their effect in Occupational Safety and Health.

We spoke on the governor’s leaning; which is using safety as a prevention tool against hazard, and the effectiveness of this proactive approach.

The consensus was ‘Safety First’ has to be wholly embraced by Lagosians. For this, ELP assured the Director-General of partnership in publicity and other aspects of their work.
