Retired, but not tired

With loads of questions on minds, the Environmental Lagos Platform delegation arrived at the Iduntafa palace at Adeniji Adele.

It was rounds of pleasantries from the welcome team.

Promptly, the Ogboni Iduntafa of Lagos joined us, and we settled down to introductions.

Questions came out, and amidst the answers; Arc. Gbolahan Oki explained that; it is a new phase of work in his life.

As a public official, he was always engaging with a resolution mindset. Was that foretelling the position he presently occupies?

The Ogboni Iduntafa of Lagos has wasted no time in engaging with his subjects; with lots of meetings daily.

Some of the immediate outcomes are a big screen for viewers to watch sports, sponsorship of an 8-month table tennis competition, renovation of public toilets, etc

These are some of his activities in making society better, by engaging minds instead of letting them idle and wander to crimes.

The palace itself has witnessed transformation and the new structure was commissioned by the Executive Governor of Lagos State in December, 2025.

We had a guided tour of it, with the history of various elements being told.

The palace was bustling with other people waiting to be attended to, so the delegation had to be considerate and not take up more time.

For being a vibrant member of Environmental Lagos Platform over the years, Arc. Gbolahan Oki (Ogboni Iduntafa of Lagos) was given a plaque of appreciation.

Copies of his autobiography were handed out to members of the delegation.

We left, knowing Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki might be retired, but he is not tired, and he continues to make Lagos better.
