Managing Director, Lagos Metropolitan Area transport authority (LAMATA) Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, yesterday, inspected the last of five overpass bridges on the highly anticipated LRMT Red Line.

This crucial step ensures the project stays on track for a Q1 2024 launch. Mrs. Akinajo said all the infrastructure had been completed, leaving only asphalt works, which she said could be completed in 10 days. The Red Line phase 1 traverses a distance of 27 kilometres from Agbado in Ogun State to Oyingbo, Lagos. The phase has stations at Agbado, Iju, Agege, Ikeja, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba, and Oyingbo. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to commission the Red Line with the first quarter of 2024.
